My Story

From Practicing on my Bedroom Floor to Teaching Millions Online

My yoga journey started back in 2016 when I was studying to become a furniture designer at university. I used to practice YouTube videos in a tiny space in my student accommodation to help me decompress from my studies.

In the early days I used to remember the sequences I had learned from Youtube classes and share them with family, friends, housemates or anyone who'd listen.

I realised that I loved sharing what I'd learned, especially when I saw the positive impact it had on people. So after graduation I decided to go and do my first 200hr vinyasa yoga teacher training.

After completing my first training I started teaching at a local studio in my hometown once a week.

One class turned into 2 and before I knew it 2 years later I was up to nearly 20 classes a week.

I was only 24 at the time and knew this wasn't sustainable which is when I started to consider my options.

This is also when covid hit and although I didn't know it at the time - I got the encouragement I needed to go online and return to the place my practice started - YouTube.

For the first few years on YouTube I felt pretty invisible. But I stuck at it and finally 4 years into my YouTube channel I got my break.

All of a sudden people were finding me and actually enjoying my classes - something I didn't think would ever happen.

I'm now 6 years into YouTube, I've posted over 1,000 classes and teach to over 1 Million subscribers every week.

I never thought I'd end up here but I'm immensely grateful that I am. Thank you for your time and energy, I hope you enjoyed reading my story. Charlie x
